How to Run a Rookie Mock Draft for Your Dynasty League
Use the same slots as your Sleeper league or lottery result, then practice the rookie class against CPU teams. Free, no account, and it stays in your browser.
What the mock draft is for
The rookie mock lets you rehearse your dynasty draft with 12 (or however many) real managers. Pick your seat, let the CPU take the other seats, and see who is still on the board when your next pick comes up.
Board order uses FantasyCalc dynasty values for 1QB or Superflex, plus TEP if your league scores tight ends higher. It is not Sleeper search rank.
Step 1: Open Mock and load a league
Go to /mock and enter the same Sleeper username you use for the lottery. Pick the season, then click your league.
After you run a lottery you can also jump here from results or history with that order already loaded.
Step 2: Choose draft order
Open Setup and pick one of three sources:
- Standings order: Worst record or lowest playoff finish picks first. If this season is still 0-0, the mock uses last completed season.
- Lottery result order: Uses the draft order from a lottery you already ran for this league.
- Sleeper draft: Imports slot order from a Sleeper rookie or startup draft attached to the league.
Traded picks follow Sleeper. 1.01 stays in that column. Another manager may be on the clock if they acquired the pick.
Step 3: Set rounds, snake, and who you are
- You are: Select your manager name so your cells highlight and the CPU skips your turns.
- Rounds: 2 through 6. Most dynasty rookie drafts are 3 or 4.
- Draft type: Linear or snake.
Step 4: Start the mock and make your picks
Click Start mock. CPU teams pick with best-player-available plus a little noise so every run is not identical. When you are on the clock, click a player in the available list.
- Pause stops the CPU so you can look at the board.
- Undo takes back the last pick and pauses, so you can take that seat yourself.
- Reset or Re-run clears picks and starts over with the same settings.
Reading the board
The grid is one column per original first-round slot. Your picks are outlined. The clock cell is highlighted. Filled cells show the player, position, NFL team, and board rank. Traded picks show via the original owner.
The available list is under the board. Filter by position or search by name. The roster panel on the right shows who each manager has taken.
Tips for a useful mock
- Match Superflex and TEP to your real league before you start.
- Import the Sleeper draft if picks already moved.
- Upload a rankings CSV if your league uses a shared board.
- Run it twice. CPU noise means the board at 2.04 will not be the same every time.
